Occupation: Industry Relations Advocate for Free Speech Coalition (FSC)
Location: Los Angeles, California, United States
The Sex In My Business: Free Speech Coalition is a trade association and advocacy group that revolves around sex. My job is to preserve the rights and freedoms of the adult entertainment and retail industries.
A Typical Day: I love that there is no typical workday for me. From decriminalization efforts to on-set consent issues, there is always something new to work on! I usually arrive at the office early to check emails and FSC’s Twitter for any messages that need a response. Then I update the FSC website and its INSPIRE program page, which focuses on helping new performers better understand the industry. I also write a weekly newsletter to sum up the news in the adult and pleasure products industry. Additionally, as an adult film producer and performer, I shoot photos and videos in the brightly lit spot of my apartment for OnlyFans.
The Best Part: I love having the freedom to express myself. I cannot thrive in sterile corporate environments where advancement depends upon creating a false-yet-acceptable personality. I appreciate that my colleagues at FSC accept me as I am and allow me to be myself. I love sex and hate dating, so as for being in porn, I think it’s quite obvious — my favorite part is having safe sex with multiple partners without the hassle of dating.
The Worst Part: At FSC, we are tasked with supporting those that do not support us, which is a difficult position to be in. People expect our small team to fix every problem in the industry, often without ever having been a member, contributor, or ally of our organization.
How I Got Here: I have always been fascinated with sex. Much like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character Douglas Quaid in Total Recall (1990), I felt summoned by something deep inside me. My fascination led to an interest in sex workers and how they live. So, I became one — I started domming in my hometown, and when I moved to Los Angeles, I added stripping, camming, and then porn acting to my repertoire.
What Society Thinks: Media, television, and films influence the public’s view of the adult industry, and it annoys me that negative experiences are so often highlighted rather than the thousands of positive stories. My family had their concerns initially, but I have thrived in this industry more than in any previous job, so they were left with few valid arguments against my profession. After my parents found out about my work, we began discussing deeper topics like philosophy, politics, and identity in ways we would not have otherwise. Now we can comfortably discuss topics ranging from porn or my sex life to why I don’t want to be in a traditional union.
When I’m Not At Work: I love to eat charcuterie, try new restaurants with friends, sip tea (figuratively and literally), go to the movies, attend artistic or political events, be out in nature, and paint.
