Mistress Skye Marlowe
Occupation: Professional Dominatrix
Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States
The Sex In My Business: As a professional dominatrix, I bring an excessive amount of sensuality to each interaction, even though I am not a full-service provider.
A Typical Day: Most days I respond to emails, write blogs, contact photographers, try to find inspiration for shoots, talk with submissives and clients, and promote on social media. Some days I have sessions with clients, while other days I do not.
The Best Part: I love meeting and making connections with people.
The Worst Part: The inconsistency of the amount of work — for me it is feast or famine. I will usually have one day where everyone wants their appointment, and that is the only day they are available. This can make it challenging to see everyone.
How I Got Here: I answered an ad seeking girls for foot worship and found that there was just so much more to it. At first, I didn’t love it, so I left. But I tried it again, and once I better understood the reasons why people are drawn to BDSM (which go far beyond sexual gratification), I found that working as a professional Dom was in fact what I wanted to do.
What Society Thinks: I think there is still a big misunderstanding about what exactly it is that I do. I feel that people are not very open to sex when it comes to anything outside of the “normal” sexual world. I have heard some people say that Fifty Shades of Grey (2011) ruined it, but I think the book has done both positive and negative things when it comes to highlighting Dominant/Submissive relationships and BDSM. Unfortunately, my partner is not very supportive of my work, but I feel that among some people there is a growing and genuine interest in kinks, especially bondage and spanking.
When I’m Not At Work: I enjoy reading, photography, singing (even though I can’t), karaoke, watching musicals, and going to the theater. I am also a huge fan of the beach and being in the water.
